The polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common endocrinopathy (68%) of the female population in the reproductive age. It is characterised by oligomenorrhoea, hyperandrogenism and the presence of polycystic ovary. PCOS is also associated with the disturbance of carbohydrate and lipid metabolism.
